While spring may have been a long time coming, it finally did arrive and along with it came the flowers! As you walk around Grand Marais, you will find numerous planters bursting forth with lovely blooms. They truly do brighten up the area! But, have you ever wondered how they got there? Well, you have the Grand Marais Garden Club to thank! Each spring, our members show up, tools and jugs of water in hand, ready to plant the flowers that beautify our lovely city! This year, Linda Quick was in charge and she handled the ordering of the plants and then organized her group of willing volunteers to ensure each planter had just the right arrangements. Thanks to Linda and her team, we can look forward to many colorful blooms throughout the season!
If you think you’d like to get involved with the Grand Marais Garden Club, we’d love to have you! Our next meeting will be on Monday, July 11th at 10 a.m. at the Johnson Heritage Post. After a brief meeting, one of our area’s Master Gardeners will be leading us on a tour of the community gardens in our area. Interested? Join us! We look forward to meeting you!
