Tod A. LeGarde, 57, of Grand Portage, died unexpectedly Monday, May 7, 2012 at his home in Grand Portage.
He was born January 29, 1955 to Donald and Darlene (Duhaime) in Cloquet, MN. He grew up in Grand Portage and graduated from Cook County High School in June of 1973. He attended Macalester College in St. Paul for two years and then one year at the University of Minnesota. Tod helped open the Radisson in Grand Portage and worked as a consultant for Indian tribes at Falmouth Institute in Fairfax, Virginia. He was highly valued and respected by his fellow employees. He married Lori Conklin May 29, 2004 in Grand Portage.
Tod enjoyed cooking, traveling, and Lake Superior.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and uncle, Bud.
He is survived by his mother, Darlene; wife Lori; children, Tyler and Angela; sisters, Loretta (Phil), Amy (Grant), Cindy (Bryan); nieces, Sarah and Rita; and many cousins.
