A sister program of Cooperation Station daycare, Explorers Club is dedicated to fostering play and exploration in natural settings for youth ages 6 to 11. It is our mission to foster a deep, abiding love of the outdoors through a wide range of activities and naturalist learning, while providing quality care that emphasizes physical, social, emotional, and educational development.
Children develop enhanced social skills as they learn to share, cooperate, and work as a team during outdoor excursions. Children are expected to follow rules and safety policies, under the skilled guidance of our leaders, who are trained in wilderness water safety, wilderness first aid, general first aid, and CPR.
Registration began on May 1 at Grand Marais Public Library. As well as filling out paperwork, parents and guardians will need to submit a check written to Explorers Club for their selected days. Please see “Cost and Scheduling” for more details about payments. Parents who cannot attend on May 1 should email explorers.club.fcc@gmail.com for forms and may submit them any time following registration night. Spots are filled in the order that forms and payments are received.
Our maximum capacity is 14 children per day, led by two adult leaders. Spots fill up fast, so be sure to contact us soon!
Cost and Scheduling
The cost of Explorers Club is $40 per day, per child. Scheduling is flexible. In advance of each month, you choose the individual days you would like your child to attend.
If you choose to enroll your child for two or three months at the beginning of the summer, you must commit to paying for those days as each deadline arrives. While occasionally swapping a day is possible, we cannot guarantee it. For June-registration, your payment must be made by May 25. July and August payments are due two weeks before each month begins.
