Three views on nature, new exhibit at Johnson Heritage Post

Is the stag getting energy from its surroundings, or is the stag giving energy to the forest it lives in? Or are the elements of sky, flora, fauna and beast interchangeable, all feeding each other in a mosaic rhythmic dance of life? Pictures like the one shown here that was created by artist Stanley Leonard in 2013 will leave you with questions about the natural world. The three featured artists will display their work at the Johnson Heritage Post starting this weekend through May 20.

The Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery has a new exhibit that opens this Friday, April 27 at 5 p.m.

The exhibit is titled “Found: 3 Views on Nature” and is produced by a group exhibition by talented artists Stephanie Mostre-Kotz, Stanley Leonard, and Bethany Kepler.

This show is a wonderful mix of block prints, encaustic paintings, and mixed-media artworks. The three artists joining in this exhibition have only two things in common…the appreciation of nature and the talent to express it!

The opening reception will feature spectacular artworks, live music by The Grace Notes, and free refreshments.

The exhibit runs from April 27 through May 20.
