Two seniors and one junior Viking baseball player were named to the Polar League All-Conference baseball team.
Senior catcher and pitcher Kole Anderson hit .390 for the season with a .400 percent on-base average.
Kole had four doubles and two home runs during the weather-plagued year. As a pitcher, Kole had two wins and two losses. He had an ERA of 4.51 and recorded 38 strikeouts. Kole was also voted by coaches to the All-Section team.
Slick fielding senior left-fielder J Shannon ended with a .308 batting average. He had a .400 percent on-base average and stole 20 bases for the year.
Hunter Gomez, a junior, played shortstop, pitched, and caught for the Vikings. Hunter’s batting average was .317, with a .389 percent on-base average. On the mound, Hunter had one win and four losses. He had a 6.211 ERA with 28 strikeouts.
The three Vikings will represent Cook County in the Polar League All-Star Game on June 20. The game will start at 1 p.m. at Duluth’s Wade Stadium.
