Cook County High School freshman Molly Thomas ended a great season on the track with a 4th place finish in the 400 meter run at the Section 7A track meet held at University of Minnesota’s Duluth Malosky track Thursday, May 29.

Thomas ran a season best time of 63.42 seconds. She was less than 2 seconds away from qualifying for the state track meet. The top two runners at Sections advance to the state meet.

Seventh-grade speedster Sophie Eliasen finished 7th in the 200 meter run with a great time of 28.45 seconds.

Eighth-grade distance runner Maya McHugh placed 11th in the 3200 meter (2 mile) run with a fine time of 13:37.

Head Coach April Wahlstrom said she was proud of her three young runners’ performance at Sections.

With a young team coming back next year, and led by this very talented threesome, Cook County High School should be right on track to do well next spring.
