The public is invited to attend the Green New Deal Town Hall in Grand Marais on Earth Day. This will be an opportunity to hear about the Green New Deal, the plan to stop climate change and create millions of new jobs in the process.
At the event, people from Cook County will talk about how they are organizing local efforts to reduce carbon emissions rapidly within the next 10 years. Speakers will outline local efforts to reduce emissions already under way.
Jay Arrowsmith–DeCoux will explain the city of Grand Marais’ draft Climate Action Plan; other speakers will describe the Cook County Local Energy Project (CCLEP), the Citizens’ Climate Lobby plan for Carbon Tax and Dividend, and the ways Arrowhead Indivisible is working toward climate solutions.
