“Fishing, a Family Affair” is this year’s North Shore Commercial Fishing Museum’s storytelling dinner.
Commercial fishing along the North Shore was a business that engaged the entire family. From the solitary fisherman who built his boat and rowed out to set and pick nets, to his wife who met the boat on its return and winched it up the slide, to the children who helped to care for the nets and pack the fish, every family member worked. During the herring runs, everyone cleaned fish.
At this dinner we will hear stories about the lives and work of all the family members while enjoying a traditional Scandinavian dinner. Speakers are Stuart Sivertson, Dale Tormondsen, and Roberta and Rich Sve. Call Lutsen Resort for reservations, 218-663-7212 by Oct. 11. There will be a 5:30 p.m. social hour, 6:15 p.m. dinner, and 7 p.m. program. Cost is $50 per person.
