The Lucky Dutch will be serving up their powerful roots-and-blues-infused rock-n-roll brew that’s sure to move your bootie and your soul. They’ll be playing at the Wunderbar from 7 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 23. There’s no cover for this event, but donations to NSMA will be accepted.
An American rock band from Illinois, The Lucky Dutch was formed in 2008 by guitarist Nathan Graham and singer Claire Corriveau.
Nathan Graham has performed as a guitarist on the Chicago blues scene since age 15, working and touring with musicians such as Buddy Guy, BB King, and Koko Taylor. Claire Corriveau has worked as a vocalist for the past decade, both as a solo artist and with ensembles. Joining the band six years ago, David Padula played bass for many years in a jazz trio before moving to Chicago. Ben Dacoba began playing drums at age 15 in Virginia. Ben draws inspiration from classic rock bands from the ’60s and ’70s and works as a touring drummer across the country in addition to performing and recording with The Lucky Dutch.
The Lucky Dutch began as an indie band that performed extensively around Chicago’s bar and festival scene. Since then, the band has toured the country and released two LPs: Bury the Night in 2014, and Cadillac Coffin in 2016. In May 2018, The Lucky Dutch released a new single called “My Time Ain’t Long.”
