Thank you Steve for your loyal opposition opinion “As I See It.”
No doubt you will see my opinions as being from that small group of ill-informed, fuzzy thinking individuals who support the News-Herald, and, Garry Gamble’s opinion that our county commissioners are not listening to the people, and are spending our money foolishly.
The commissioners, when they hired Jeff Cadwell, led the citizens of this county to have high expectations for this new “management tool,” which has not been realized to date – the cost/benefits from his hiring are negative in my opinion!
In other rural counties in which I have lived, a Commoner at Large was elected by all the citizens of the county, and is tasked to be the advocate for all the people and is not tasked with 30-40 subcommittees as our commissioners are.
If Cook County had this position I believe that Garry Gamble would be elected to serve us.
I have had the pleasure of living in Cook County for 18 years.
The News-Herald every week brings Loretta and me all the happenings of our community (which is real news) and they have done so with honesty, integrity, and fairness.
