If you see a bunch of droopy Lions walking around town dragging their tails, it’s no wonder. The Grand Marais Lions Club put together another fantastic four-day Fisherman’s Picnic Festival, and most of the Lions are exhausted. Rightly so, a lot of hard work, sweat, time, energy, creativity and thought went into planning the events, then seeing to it that they went off without a hiccup or a hitch. Well done Lions.
The Lions on average are getting older. Most of the club is in their 70s and 80s. There are a few younger members in their 50s, maybe one or two in their 40s, but new blood is needed.
If you have some time and would like to learn more about the Grand Marais Lions Club and all of the organizations and causes they support throughout the year, email gmlionsclub@gmail.com, or talk to a Lion about joining. Even if you don’t want to join, remember to thank the Lions Club members when you see them. They work their tails off for the community. Thanks again, Lions!
