Thank you, Cook County Crossing Guards!

Crossing Guard Appreciation Day is Wednesday, April 19. Our local crossing guards ensure children make it to school safely. Each day, rain, snow, or sun, they are there with a smile to allow children to safely cross intersections and streets before and after school. On behalf of the Safe Routes to School Committee, we say, “Thank you!” to the amazing people providing this service to our school children. You truly are appreciated!

For more information about Safe Routes to School, contact Cook County Public Health Safe Routes to School/ SHIP Coordinator, Kristina Mattson, at 218-302-1342 or Kristina.Mattson@co.cook.mn.us.

*Please note that the Cook County Public Health, Safe Routes to School Committee, Minnesota Department of Health, and Statewide Health Improvement Partnership work together to encourage walking and biking to school, but do not assume liability for anyone’s commute to or from school.
