Terry Leroy Englund, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and helpful friend to many, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 76 on May 10, 2013.
Terry was born September 27, 1936 to Doris Delmont and Leroy Englund. Terry was a longtime resident of St. Paul. He retired to Grand Marais in 1995 and resided on Greenwood Lake with his loving wife Gail.
He was a longtime St. Paul business owner and a member of the The Association of Restuarant and Liquor Dealers and The Skyway Council. His community involvement didn’t stop when he moved north. He was a friendly face at Buck’s Hardware, a charter member of the Arrowhead Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association (MDHA) and an asssociate member of the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department. Terry faithfully served his neighbors plowing snow for their neighborhood association.
Terry was a loving and dedicated husband to Gail. Together they traveled the world and enjoyed everything life has to offer. He was an avid outdoorsman. Terry enjoyed living on Greenwood Lake year around, ATV trails in the northwoods, boating, hunting, snowmobiling and birdwatching with Gail and their family.
He is preceded by his mother Doris Delmont and father Leroy Englund.
He is survived by his wife Gail Englund; sister, Karen (Dean) Stotler; four daughters Lori Englund, Susan (Rod) Fennern, Kathleen (Joel) Shaffer and Jeanne (Kevin) Griswold; one son, Andy Brostrom; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais, Minnesota.
