The sights and smell of fresh-cut flowers and blooming plants will greet those who need to purchase Minnesota license plates, get new vehicle tabs, or need a title transfer.
Terra Bella Floral and Gifts is the new home for the Cook County Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) center.
The DMV moved from the Grand Marais Pharmacy to its new location and opened for business on Wednesday, June 5.
Sandi McQuatters was busy Wednesday morning learning the ins and outs of the DMV from her new employee, Emily Kettleson, who has experience in the field.
The parking lot has been expanded to accompany the new business and one corner of the store has been rededicated and remodeled for the DMV.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“I’m still selling flowers,” said Sandi. “But I’m also learning this,” she pointed to the DMV station. “In the future Emily might work with the flowers and I can take a turn at the DMV, but for now, we’re just getting started and there is a lot for me to learn.”
