The Grand Marais Playhouse is bringing nationally recognized comedian/ventriloquist/ musician Todd Oliver to the Arrowhead Center for the Arts at 7 p.m. Nov. 26. Todd Oliver and Friends feature “Irving,” America’s favorite real talking dog.
Have you ever met a talking dog, a real talking dog?
Meet Irving, a “real live talking Boston terrier.” This little dog is making crowds across the country “howl” for more. When Irving gets behind the microphone, he turns everyday K-9 experiences into knockout comedy. Irving, with a little help from his partner comedian/ventriloquist Todd Oliver, is taking dialogue into a whole new dimension.
Get ready, you’ve never seen anything like this!
Todd Oliver and Irving were awarded and received “Best Comedy Variety Performance” and “Best Dinner Show” at the Branson All American Entertainment Awards.
Recent Television appearances include: Top 4 finalist America’s Got Talent, Late Show With David Letterman, Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, The Today Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Penn And Teller’s Sin City Sensational, The Oak Ridge Boys “Live In Las Vegas,” and a couple of episodes of “Walker Texas Ranger.”
Todd Oliver’s warm, friendly personality creates a “magical family chemistry” with a cast of characters, who, besides Irving, includes Pops; a crazy confused old timer; his lifelong love Miss Lilly; and Joey; the loveable bad boy.
Tickets for this national act are only $18 for adults and $8 for students under 18. For more information and tickets go to grandmaraisplayhouse.com.
The Grand Marais Playhouse is bringing Broadway musicals and curry back together again in December. This is a major fundraiser for the Playhouse and is a ton of fun as well. If you would like to contribute a curry dish or sing a Broadway musical number, contact the Playhouse at (218) 387- 1284 or playhouse@boreal.org or through our website. We are looking for folks to accompany singers as well. Dance numbers are also welcome.
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is in rehearsal and work will soon begin on the production. We need an enormous amount of help on costumes, set, painting and props to make this magical musical take place on our very own stage. An interest meeting in all things backstage will be held Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. See what happens backstage. To volunteer for production work come to the interest meeting or email playhouse@boreal.org or sign up on our website grandmaraisplayhouse.com.
