Cook County Higher Education is hosting an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 3. Higher Ed Director Paula Sundet Wolf explains that the date was selected because there are so many other exciting things to do in the community that day.
The local fiber guild has a show and sale at the Grand Marais Art Colony from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Betsy Bowen Studio has a show and sale the entire weekend, and it is also the weekend of the local ecumenical Christmas Concert at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Sundet Wolf encourages community members to stop in at Cook County Higher Education and get a tour of the North Shore campus and enjoy the festive (and relaxing) activities, such as having your blood pressure checked by one of our nursing students, enjoying a relaxing neck massage thanks to our wonderful massage graduates (gift cards can be purchased), and of course eating some healthy snacks to energize your body, with engaging conversation to energize your spirit.
Part of the event includes a fundraiser to help reach Higher Ed’s $25,000 endowment fund goal by the end of the year. If you cannot attend, consider becoming a friend of Cook County Higher Education or upgrading your friendship level. You can pledge online at www.northshorecampus.org.
