Kudos
to Jim Bacon on his letter dated Oct. 23. As a transplant myself for the past 28 years I have watched and listened to many of us who want exactly what we came from. Why some people move here is the big question.
TheGunflintTrail used to be remote. I loved living there and chose to live there because of the lack of people and amenities. Now the criteria appear to be associations of some kind, the fastest Internet service, cell phone use (thank God that isn’t true yet). The woods is the woods.
If you don’t want the remoteness or the lack of convenience, move somewhere else. Same with Grand Marais.
Kudos
to Tod Sylvester’s letter dated Oct. 23. Why not try to keep folks living here working here? Thethings our city and county spend our money on. Why not create industry? Why not give small business a tax break? Why not put some of our tax dollars toward school and creating a future. Why not give some of this money to the food shelf and feed our people?
How many full time residents can afford to golf at Superior National golf course? Not many, not enough to have the few taxpayers here support it. People who visit this area do so because it is not like other communities.
Let’s start taking care of us and the ones around us, and you watch, they will still come.
