Taconite Harbor viewfinder ribbon-cutting ceremony

Schroeder Township of Cook County, Minnesota, the Minnesota DNR, and the North Shore Scenic Drive Council will host a ribboncutting ceremony of the Taconite Harbor Viewfinder reveal on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Taconite Harbor Public Access site. The public is invited to be the first to test out the new viewfinders that will allow tourists and local residents to view the boats, birds, and wildlife seen at Taconite Harbor and across the way at Bear and Gull islands.

Taconite Harbor is a hidden gem along the North Shore and these viewfinders will allow everyone to enjoy the historical and natural aspects of the harbor. This project would not be possible without the support and help from MN Power, IRRRB, Minnesota DNR, U.S. Forest Service, Visit Cook County, Schroeder Historical Society, and the North Shore Scenic Drive Council.

The event provides an opportunity to extend appreciation to state and local officials, contractors, and staff for their assistance in making the project a success.
