Barb LaVigne and George Wilkes, owners of the Angry Trout Café, will present Sustainable Business Practices: An Effective Business Strategy for the North Shore Marketplace at the next Cook County Business Network luncheon on Wednesday, March 30.
Having caught the sustainability “bug” in the early 1990s, Barb and George have worked ever since to incorporate this concept into the cafe’s day-to-day operations with winning results. Join them for an overview of sustainable business practices and learn how you can incorporate different concepts into your own North Shore business.
The owners of the Angry Trout Cafe, a seasonal Grand Marais restaurant specializing in fresh fish since 1987, are offering a free copy of their book Angry Trout Café Notebook: Friends, Recipes, and the Culture of Sustainability to all luncheon participants.
The Cook County Business Network luncheon is sponsored by Cook County Higher Education and the Northeast Entrepreneur Fund’s Women’s Business Network. All people interested in learning more about sustainable business practices are invited to attend the luncheon. The presentation and lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Cascade Lodge Restaurant. The cost for the luncheon and presentation is $12.
For more information and to register for the luncheon, email highered@boreal.org or call Cook County Higher Education at 387-3411 by March 29.
