In addition to the serious mission of raising money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation to fight breast cancer, the Rally for the Cure offers time to celebrate life. Pink will be the order of the day at Superior National at Lutsen on Sunday, September 13.

Superior National at Lutsen is celebrating Rally for the Cure’s 20th Anniversary with a women’s 18-hole golf scramble event on Sunday, September 13. Rally has been a valued partner of Susan G. KomenTM since 1996. Its volunteer-organized golf, tennis and social events work to educate women about breast cancer and remind them to get their annual screening. Since 1996, Rally events have engaged over 2.5 million people in the fight against breast cancer, generating more than $77 million through fundraising activities for Susan G. Komen.

“We are so grateful for Rally’s 20 years of support,” says Nancy G. Brinker, founder and chair, Global Strategy Susan G. Komen, “This partnership, all the volunteers who have hosted events, and the millions of people who have been Rally participants, have been instrumental in our mission to end breast cancer forever.”

Superior National has 80+ participants registered for the Rally event and invites the public to take part. The two days’ activities will consist of practice rounds available Saturday, September 12 and a social hour that evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with drink specials and hors d ‘oeuvres for all participants.

Cart decoration and registration starts at 8 a.m. Sunday the 13th with a “shotgun” start at 10 a.m. Prizes and a raffle will follow immediately after golf finishes. Each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information, a special 20th Anniversary Rally pin and a subscription to a select Condé Nast magazine such as SELF, Golf Digest and Bon Appétit.

“We are thrilled to host a Rally event to honor this special milestone. The event is a fun way for us to bring together our members, the community, golfers from around the state and Canada to support an important cause while playing a sport they are passionate about,” says Heath Ekstrom, PGA head professional and rally ambassador. “This is our 8th time hosting this event and I couldn’t be prouder of all our golfers and the awareness this event raises in the fight against breast cancer. We still have some spots left for golfers to register, give us a call.”

Rally is run by Condé Nast and is based in Wilton, Connecticut. For more information about Superior National at Lutsen’s Rally event, call 218-663-7195 or to host a Rally event on your own call 1-800-327-6811 or visit rallyforthecure.com.
