Birch Grove elementary students were called into action during the preparation for the Schroeder Area Historical Society’s (SAHS) annual meeting and community dinner at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Schroeder Town Hall. Ms. Sandeford’s second graders made hard hats to be used for table decorations at the event with the theme of Boom Town to Ghost Town: Taconite Harbor.

The hard hats are emblematic of the work at Taconite Harbor during the Boom Town years and of the work of the Schroeder Area Historical Society in 2016.

Dr. Roger MacDonald will be the featured speaker at the event. Dr. MacDonald had an office at Taconite Harbor.
