Malec, Sigford graduate from Northwest Technical College

Brittany Malec and Sarah Sigford, both of Grand Marais, graduated from Northwest Technical College with a certificate in community health work.

Neel graduates college

Jessica (Jacobsen) Neel, Grand Marais, graduated magna cum laude from Bemidji State University this spring with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design.

She is the daughter of John and Heidi Jacobsen, Grand Marais. Jessica is employed by CherryRoad Media. She does the graphic arts for ads and page layout for the Cook County News-Herald and the Lake County Press in Two Harbors, Minnesota.

Petersen graduates from Bemidji State

Timmy Peterson, Grand Marais, graduated this spring with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Bemidji State University.

Suttons named to Dean’s List

Sisters Abigail Sutton and Linden Sutton, Grand Marais, are students at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and both earned a spot on the Academic Dean’s List for the spring 2022 semester.

The Dean’s List is comprised of students who have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours. This semester, 369 students qualified for the Dean’s List. Of them, 245 students earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher and are considered Collegiate Scholars, designated with an asterisk.

Abigail is a junior majoring in social enterprise. Linden is a junior majoring in social work.
