Robin Henrikson was one of eight Great Expectations School (GES) middle school students who traveled to UMD for a regional MATHCOUNTS! competition last week. Robin had the fifth-highest score after the first few rounds and placed fourth in the bracketed final round—earning a trip to the state competition.
She will be competing at the state meet on March 12 in Plymouth, Minnesota.
Joining Robin in representing GES were Chloe Blackburn, Ellen Callender, Aram Falter, Keenan Hingos, Emma James, Aurora Schelmeske, and Will Surbaugh. They all spent time in “problem solving” sessions through the year.
The team is coached by educator Erik Hahn and volunteer Jeff Kern.
