On the topic of ISD 166 paying for YMCA memberships, consider two points.
Is this a benefit sought and negotiated for by contract staff?
Is this a benefit going to all staff?
If the answer is 1, then this benefit is contracted like insurance or sick days.
If the answer is 2, then some of those eligible for this extra benefit might rightly ask the cash amount be added to their wage. I know I surely would.
(Things a person can’t or won’t be able to use are best given by relatives as wedding presents.)
P.S.) If there is some “extra” to spend, why not use it on a student program, books, etc.?
