Grand Marais’s Abigail Stoddard named to University of Iowa Dean’s list for 2021 fall semester

Abigail Stoddard of Grand Marais, Minnesota was among the more than 6,900 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the dean’s list for the 2021 fall semester.

Stoddard is a first-year student in Iowa’s College of Education and is majoring in Elementary Education.

Dean’s list status was earned by only 1,402 first year undergraduates during the 2021 spring semester at Iowa, only 1,427 second year students, only 1,836 third year students, and only 2,304 fourth year students.

Silas Sobanja, Grand Marais, was named to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls fall semester Dean’s List

The announcement came from Registrar Kelly Browning.

To be named to the Dean’s List, a full-time undergraduate must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0, or midway between an “A” and “B” average.

Silas is majoring in Psychology.

Abigail Sutton named to Dean’s List

Abigail Sutton, a student at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, has earned a spot on the Academic Dean’s List for the fall 2021 semester.

The Dean’s List is comprised of students who have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours. This semester, 428 students qualified for the Dean’s List. Students who earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher are considered Collegiate Scholars, designated with an asterisk. Of the 284 Collegiate Scholars, 97 of them maintained a perfect 4.0 average and are recognized with a pound sign.

Sutton is a sophomore majoring in elementary education from Grand Marais.
