The North Shore Storm stormed the Iron Range at the Eveleth Lions Invitation on Thursday, Setptember 15. It was early on in the boys’ race that Jake Paron ran away from the field to win the race with more than a 40-second lead, a time of 17:21. This helped to lead his teammates to a 2nd place finish behind Ely which had the next three finishers, followed by Noah Smith a 9th grader from the North Shore.

Smith finished in 5th place with a time of 18:10. Will Surbaugh was the next runner in 17th in 19:14, followed by Leif Anderson 29th in 19:37, Brenden Seipke 37th in 19:49, Thatcher Sunday 39th in 19:50 and Mikael Overby 47th in 20:34.

The teammates who ran on this course last year all improved by close to a minute or more. That helps to put things in perspective as to why these guys are doing so well. They have worked hard!

Lexi Erickson from International Falls is back and leading the pack of girls. Erickson led the race from the beginning and won with a time of 20:17. Louise Ramberg once again led the North Shore to a strong finish. North Shore finished in 4th place behind Proctor, South Ridge, and Ely.
