Steven Grant Galbraith, 59 of Lutsen, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, November 2, 2021, at home. He was born on February 20, 1962, to Alexander and Christine (Daglish) Galbraith at Queen Mary Hospital in Dunedin, New Zealand. He was proud to be a Kiwi. He finished the 6th Form (12th grade) at Otago Boys’ High School. He married Sylvia Hall on February 6, 1988, in Lutsen, Minnesota, a very cold morning that day at -32°F but warmed up to 0°F and felt like a heat wave.
He was preceded in death by his father Alexander and grandson James. Survivors include his wife of 33-1/2 years, Sylvia; his sons, David (Krista) Galbraith of Alexandria, Minnesota and Matthew Galbraith of Tehachapi, California; his grandchildren: Desiree, Caleb, Ashlynn, Aubrey, Britta, Jonathan, Ian, and Elijah; his mother, Christine Galbraith (NZ); Brothers, James (Shirlwyn) Galbraith (NZ), Ken (Christine) Galbraith (NZ); Sisters, Glenda Bernhardt (NZ), Jules (Hamish) Mackenzie (NZ); treasured son-inlaw of Jim and Joan Hall (Lutsen); sister-in-law Cheryl Hovde(Lutsen); brothers-in-law Dale (Pat) Robins (Detroit Lakes), Hans (Gretta) Hall (Lutsen), Peter Hall (Lutsen), Ed (Jamie) Kloster (Silver Bay); and numerous nieces and nephews in New Zealand and the United States.
Thank you to the Lutsen First Responders, North Shore Ambulance, Dr. Bruce Dahlman, and the North Shore Health Emergency Department for their quick, personal, and professional help at such a difficult time.
Celebration of life will be at Zoar Church, Tofte, Minnesota on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 2 p.m.
