The Minnesota State Bar Association announces the recertification of attorney Steven Steinle
as an MSBA Board Certified Real Property Specialist. An attorney designated a “Board Certified Real Property Specialist” has earned an additional professional credential beyond his or her law school degree by completing a rigorous approval process, including an examination in the specialty area. Of the 1,898 members of the MSBA Real Property Section, fewer than 19 percent are certified as Real Property Law Specialists.
Certification has been recognized in many professions as a reliable way to identify those practitioners who have demonstrated superior knowledge, skill and integrity in a specific field. Although certification is relatively new to the legal profession, the medical profession has been certifying specialists for close to 100 years. “Specialist certification helps prospective clients identify an attorney who can assist them in a highly professional manner and has grown in importance as the number of lawyers continues to increase and the areas of law become ever more complex,” said former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice James H. Gilbert.
The Minnesota State Bar Association has been accredited as an independent professional organization for certifying attorneys as Real Property Specialists since 1989.
