The Cook County Historical Society and WDSE Public Television will present a big-screen showing of the documentary “Steamship America: A North Shore Legend.”

Before the high-speed internet, telephones and even Highway 61, Minnesota’s North Shore was connected by water.

WDSE’s historical documentary weaves oral histories, new and vintage photographs, newspaper accounts and dramatic images to capture life on the shore in the early days.

The screening will take place Friday, November 11, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts. Admission is free.
