Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08) received the 2019 Congressional Champion of Change Award from the National Down Syndrome Society. Stauber made the following statement upon receiving the award.

“This award is incredibly special to me because my sixteen-year-old son Isaac has Down syndrome. Isaac’s life is a blessing and he continues to bring joy to everyone who has the pleasure of knowing him,” said Stauber.

“As parents of a child with Down syndrome, Jodi and I will be forever grateful to the disabilities community for welcoming our family with open arms and helping guide us along this journey.

“Through them, we learned we have a shared responsibility to help unleash the potential of everyone living with a disability. As Isaac’s dad, and now as a member of Congress, I promise to always be a strong advocate for inclusiveness of those who live with disabilities.”
