Stauber offers a lot of life experience as a congressional candidate

Last July when 8th Congressional District Republican Pete Stauber announced his candidacy, I was immediately impressed with him and knew nearly right away I’d be voting for him to represent me in Congress. Pete Stauber is public service. He has lived and worked in Duluth his entire life and has passionately dedicated himself to helping make northern Minnesota a safe and prosperous place to live. He is in touch with our 8th District and our values.

He served for 22 years in the Duluth Police Department and retired as area command chief last August. That in itself is an entire career in public service, but he’s done more than that for the public. He served on the Hermantown City Council for eight years and is currently serving his second term as a St. Louis County commissioner. Running for Congress and pursuing yet another career in public service isn’t a new hobby for Pete, it’s part of who he is. And speaking of “hobbies,” or other special talents, he is a small business owner of the Duluth Hockey Company. He as the captain of the Lake Superior State University hockey team in Sault Saint Marie aided in their winning the Division 1 national championship in 1988, and then he later skated as a member of the Detroit Red Wings organization.

As a resident of Cook County, I want a representative in Congress who truly represents my values and me. A good representative should know what it means to be a servant to the people. They should be a citizen first and a politician second, demonstrating throughout their life a record of selfless service and commitment to the community. Pete has shown these qualities time and time again. I sincerely encourage you to please learn more about him and his “stands” regarding the 2nd Amendment, abortion, healthcare, immigration, mining, tax reform, and veterans, and all on his website: https:// petestauberforcongress.com

With the above in mind, I am also inviting you to attend a “Meet and Greet” event on Monday, April 9 at the CC Community Center in Grand Marais from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. where Pete will be bringing his Team Stauber campaign! We hope for a large turnout to support his generous efforts and hard work to be a voice for us.

I am very eager to vote for Pete Stauber to represent me, and Minnesota’s 8th District on November 6.
