State to open Judge C.R. Magney and Cascade River campgrounds

With campsites at a premium this summer it will be a welcome relief when the state opens Judge C.R. Magney and Cascade River State Park campgrounds on August 3.

While the state had opened 85 percent of its camping areas, four campgrounds, Judge C.R. Magney, Cascade, Maplewood and Nerstrand Big Woods have remained closed to campers although they are open to hikers.

According to Deborah Locks, the Parks and Trails Division public information officer, the state is opening facilities as staffing and supplies allow.
