Mark your calendars for “The Stars of the North Music Festival,” Friday, July 28 starting around 3 p.m. Live music will be played on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to approximately noon.

The festival will be taking place in Bear Tree Park the weekend before Fisherman’s Picnic.

There will be the usual main stage that will remain in place for the Fisherman’s Picnic, a food truck with all your favorite goodies, and a small beer garden. What a great way to spend a beautiful weekend in one of the most beautiful settings in the world – on the shores of downtown Grand Marais while listening to a great mix of local and regional talent.

This festival is an awareness raiser and fundraiser for a music lesson program for area youth and music instructors. It is organized by the Grand Marais Music Collaborative, a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Here are the following bands and musicians who are donating their time and talents to make this a weekend of fun: Mysterious Ways, John Russ, The Plucked Up String Band, Eric Frost, Michael Monroe, Briand Morrison, Common Ground, Courtney Yasmineh, The April Fools, Chris Gillis, Gordon Thorne, The Rocking Gospel Hour, and special guests.
