Stanley Dean Poole


Stanley Dean Poole, the youngest of six children, born to Jim and Lois Poole on March 16, 1963, in Owatonna, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Fort Myers, Florida, on March 4, 2021.

He is survived by his fiancé Jacqueline Thompson, his dogs, Veronica and Sebastian, and a cat named Kite. Stanley had five siblings: Sue (John) Swenson of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, Steve Poole (Stacy Fisher) of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Shari (Garry) Austin of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Sam (Lisseth) Poole of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Scott (Donna) Poole of Jackson, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lois Poole.

Stanley was a 1981 graduate of Winnebago High School, Winnebago, Minnesota. He moved on to receive a college degree at Mankato State University. Stanley worked at Federated Insurance for thirteen years. He then traded his suit and tie for jeans and flannels, starting an adventure moving to Grand Marais, Minnesota, obtaining a real estate and insurance license. He purchased and ran the GunFlint Motel successfully. Stan left Grand Marais and started his next adventure moving to Fort Myers, Florida. He taught real estate classes at Larson Educational Services and was an operations manager at Coastal Fire.

Stanley was a devout born-again Christian and attended Grace Church in North Fort Myers. His great love for Jesus led him in his travels to the Holy Lands in Israel, being baptized in the Jordan River. Reading of the scripture was how he began each day. His heart was forever full with the spirit of the Lord, which poured out to those around him.

Stan leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and coworkers. He touched each and every one of their lives deeply. His love for his family and Jackie was unwavering. He will be missed beyond words.

Immediate funeral ceremonies are private and cremation rites will be accorded. The family is planning a future Celebration of Life for Stan and information will be announced as soon as further details become available.
