sPARKit! to visit Cook County

Grand Marais Public Library seeks input from the residents of Cook County outside Grand Marais. The library hopes to create an opportunity to engage in conversation with you on your home turf about library services and how best to meet your needs.

To foster conversation, the library will be conducting an outreach activity called sPARKit! at various points around the county during the week of June 18-22. sPARKit! is a project sponsored by Springboard for the Arts in the Twin Cities, and features fun activities for adults and children.

The “sPARKit” mobile trailer invites the public to come, play games, and engage in conversation. Participants may learn about online security, parental controls, electrical safety, energy efficiency, lung cancer, colon cancer screening and more!

There may be a variety of arts activities, such as felting a lung with the American Lung Association, or playing games with the YMCA staff. The event will be a little different each day, with fun activities also planned for every site.

Besides the library, the partners for this event include: Arrowhead Electric, True North, the American Lung Association of Minnesota and the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic. Those who attend will have opportunities to engage with all the partners, to learn how to be safe online, and to have some good summer fun.
