The Son’s Rays choir will be celebrating its 45th anniversary with a concert interwoven with the worship at Bethlehem Lutheran during Fisherman’s Picnic Sunday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. The title of their selection is “Shine!” and will feature many of their songs over the 45 years.

A special tribute will feature two of the choir’s parents who will represent the many talented and generous parents who helped through the years. Alice Powell will present her Art Show creations by a North Shore artist. Gene Glader will share his story of how faith comes into play as events crash into life and cause drastic change.

The Grand Marais community has been so supportive, and we invite you to the Reunion Concert. A free will offering will be received, and we have chosen two projects for its use. The first is the Cook County Domestic Violence project, and secondly, the Equip Nepal project, which was started by one of our Rays, Jan Eliasen Viren and her husband, Bud. The project has been going on for 15 years and is especially needed this year as the repair and work in Nepal continues.

Cook County has been so generous in love and support over the years. We invite the community to come and celebrate with us.
