Sommer Smith named to dean’s list at University of St. Thomas

Sommer Smith of Grand Marais has been named to the dean’s honor list for spring 2011 at the University of St. Thomas.

Smith was notified by Michael C. Jordan, Ph.D. Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Studies and Academic Advisement, along with “Congratulations for the level of excellence you have achieved.”

To be on the dean’s honor list at St. Thomas, a student needs to attain a grade point average of 3.50 or higher at the end of a semester in which he or she has taken at least twelve credits for regular grades.

Sommer is in her junior year at St. Thomas. This fall she begins her senior year in accounting.

She is the daughter of Scott Smith and Kristine Barton of Grand Marais and she is a 2008 graduate of Cook County High School.
