A beloved pet went missing on a trip up the North Shore.

Rowdi, a yellow lab, has been lost for more than one month, but there have been two possible sightings of him in the West End of Cook County. Rowdi went missing on February 10 from the Surfside Resort in Tofte.

Helping with the search for this beloved pet is Amy Addy, Case Manager with the Retrievers’ Lost dog team.

On Friday, February 26, at around 9:30 a.m., a dog matching Rowdi’s description (dirty yellow lab wearing a dark collar) was seen walking up the Caribou Trail (County Road 4), approximately one-half mile north of Highway 61.

On Thursday, March 4, at around 11:30 p.m. a dog matching Rowdi’s description was seen walking across Highway 61 near Isak Hansen’s Home Hardware and Custom Builder store, just south of Grand View Park (lake side). The person who made the call stated the dog was a “lumbering yellow lab”.

“We are currently seeking people who can help search at their leisure from Cascade State Park to Temperance River State Park,” said Amy. “We have an event page set up along with an interactive map (we will be adding more search grids to include the Cascade area).

“We are asking people if they see him to not chase or scare him away but to use food to lure him to safety. We need to get this boy home safe!”

Rowdi is a ten-year-old white male lab. If you think that you may have seen him, please call 612-669-8965 or 612-669- 8488.
