Soil & Water 40 year celebration set for May 14

The Cook County Soil & Water Conservation District invites you to join in its 40-Year Celebration on Friday, May 14 from noon to 3 p.m. at the courthouse.

Over the lunch hour, Dave Boe, Duluth staff assistant for Congressman Jim Oberstar, and Ron Shelito, North Region supervisor of Minnesota’s Board of Water and Soil Resources, will share their experience and knowledge of conservation in Cook County, past and present.

For a delicious turkey or veggie box lunch, drop off $7 to Soil & Water (411 W. 2nd St.) by 4 p.m. Monday, May 10, or bring your own lunch. An open house will follow the presentation with a project and photo gallery, office tours, mapping demonstrations and tree order pick-up.

Over the last 40 years Soil & Water has connected local citizens and landowners to local, state and federal resources for technical expertise, cost share funding, and information on protecting the soils and waters of Cook County. Come celebrate with us – beverages and treats provided.
