Spring is almost here; the melting snow has made us the most joyous mud and road washouts. We are all getting anxious for the rejuvenation of our souls with longer days, gardens beginning to grow and the birds returning to sing to us all in the morning.
Speaking of…our West End snowbirds are beginning to return to the shore to grace us with their presence at our always wonderful Senior Lunch. Wednesdays are always fun and filled with news as our attendance continues to grow. Everyone is always amazed at Barb Merritt’s attention to detail in creating the perfect home cooked meal with a special treat for dessert. Come and join us every Wednesday 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Please call in advance if you are not a regular yet at (218) 663-7977.
Stamp ‘n Craft was held on April 10 with Lavona Czaplicki as the instructor. There has been an increased participation in this afternoon event filled with crafting, conversation and potluck.
Bring your kids and your friends, the second Sunday of each month from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
The Nail/Foot Care Clinic is available the third Wednesday of each month. Appointments begin at 12:30 p.m., please call in advance to reserve a space at 663-7977. Each session is approximately 30 minutes. Bring a foot basin and a towel. Cost is $10 cash. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic provides this service. Come in and pamper yourself!
Caregiver Coffee, provided by Care Partners of Cook County, continues to meet the second Friday of each month, 10 – 11:30 a.m. This informal support group is available to assist those in the position of being a caregiver. Come in and share your experiences, ideas and information. This is a good opportunity to free yourself of some of the stress and get help.
Cole’s IT Tech Support will be available Wednesday, April 27 from 12:30 – 4 p.m. in the community room. Anyone needing assistance with technical devices, smart phones, laptop, iPad, software or security issues, stop in and let Cole Bauer help you out. This is a free service (donations appreciated).
We are looking forward to May and the start up of the hearth oven pizza. The date will be announced as weather permits.
