The Grand Marais Art Colony will present Art and Culture of Isle Royale with
Howard Sivertson
July 20 – 24, 2011.
Join the Isle Royale native and recognized artist to experience the art, culture and life of Isle Royale. This trip is for the artist and cultural history-lover alike, as the participant can choose to spend time painting with Sivertson during the day or tramping around the island with a naturalist.
Sivertson will instruct the techniques of painting traditional/representational watercolors both in plein air (outdoors) and in the studio. Evening lectures with Sivertson, boat trips to other areas of the island and 24-hour studio access will be part of the weeklong experience. All expenses are covered in the tuition fee including lodging, food and transportation.
Registration by April 15 is required to reserve your space for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. After that, space is not guaranteed.
