After a scoreless first inning Kelly High School erupted for 15 runs in the second, and that’s all of the runs the Mariners would need to sink the Vikings.
The Vikings fell 15-0 in four innings.
It was a tough day all around for the Vikings who faced a hot Mariner team in Silver Bay on a cold Monday, May 2.
Kallie Anderson took the loss on the mound. Kallie allowed five hits and 15 runs in two and two-thirds innings. Kallie struck out two batters. Maggie Smith came in from the bullpen and threw two-thirds of an inning in relief, striking out one batter.
No one on the Vikings got a hit, and the Mariner pitcher only surrendered one walk. Meanwhile the Mariner’s collected ten walks with three strikeouts.
The Vikings had four errors in the game. No errors were recorded by Silver Bay players.
The Vikings will get a chance to even the score against the Mariners on Monday, May 10, when the Mariners visit here. The varsity action will start at 4 p.m. Come out and cheer on your Vikings!
