While the timeline isn’t entirely known, it is understood that someone broke into the safe at East Bay Suites in Grand Marais and made off with $984.80.
Police believe the robbery most probably occurred either the night of October 25 or during the morning of October 26.
The incident was reported to the Cook County Sheriff ’s Office at 7:01 a.m. on October 26.
The Cook County Sheriff ’s Office has potential lead(s), but the matter remains under investigation, reported Valerie Marasco, Director- Emergency Management & Public Information Officer for the county.
