A Cook County Sheriff ’s Department vehicle was involved in an accident in Crookston, Minnesota on January 19, 2012. Sheriff Deputy/Bailiff Gary Radloff was returning to Cook County from Crookston after delivering an inmate to the Northwest Regional Correctional Facility following a court appearance.
According to a Crookston Police Department spokesperson, Radloff was traveling north on a three-lane divided highway in Crookston at approximately 3:15 p.m. on January 19. At North Broadway and 4th Street, Radloff attempted a left turn from the center lane, in front of a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt also traveling north, driven by Brittney Morris, 22, of Crookston.
There was moderate damage to Morris’s vehicle and according to the Crookston spokesperson there was “severe” damage to the Cook County Sheriff Department vehicle, a 2009 Chevrolet van. The van had approximately 67,000 miles on it. Cook County is waiting for the insurance adjuster to determine whether or not the van is totalled.
There were no injuries and no citations were issued.
