Shared driveway language change not needed

Regarding the county’s proposed changes to the subdivision ordinance: As a Cook County taxpayer and employer of contractors, I would like to express my objection to the subdivision ordinance changes being proposed. Specifically, on page 24, Section 9, the words “and shared driveways”
are slipped in. This change is not referenced on the first page, which lists out all the other proposed changes.

I view this as an incredible oversight, or a sneaky way to burden property owners and subdividers with further unnecessary monetary costs. This language has direct impacts on administrative subdivisions, and makes an already expensive process even more so. With the economy in dire straits, the last thing anyone needs is further draining of our pockets.

I ask that you please strike out the addition of these words to the ordinance and give us small time folks a badly needed break.
