Shane Danielson





 

 

Shane Danielson, 42, a lifelong resident of Grand Marais, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Cook County North Shore Hospital, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Shane was born February 21, 1972 to the late Kim and Paula Danielson. He was employed as a Supervisory Customs and Border Protection Officer at the Grand Portage, MN Port of Entry, where he received numerous awards and commendations for dedication to his job.

Shane was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was owner of SNZ Charters of Grand Marais. He was also a volunteer firefighter and First Responder for the Colvill Fire Department. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, friends and camping.

Shane is preceded in death by his father Kim Danielson and his mother Paula Danielson; his paternal grandfather, Alton Danielson of Grand Marais; maternal grandfather

Bert Johnson and maternal grandmother Phyllis Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Danielson of Grand Marais; his children, three sons, Nicholas Alton Danielson and Zachary Dennis Danielson of South Haven, MN, Matthew Brian Dismuke of Brunswick, Georgia; two daughters Ashley Danielle Dismuke and Taylor Delores Dismuke of Brunswick, Georgia; one grandson, Christian Isaiah Gorge also of Brunswick, Georgia; one brother, Mark Ryan Danielson of Grand Marais; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Grand Marais and funeral service was Wednesday, April 16 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date.
