Serve Safe Food Manager Certification offered in Grand Marais




Cook County Higher Education will offer Serve Safe Food Manager Certification and Renewal training in Grand Marais on April 30 and May 1. This training is designed to fulfill requirements for Minnesota state and local health departments. The seminars train, test and certify you in the National Restaurant Association’s Serve Safe program for serving safe food.

To be certified, you must attend the full certification course and pass the exam. The certification exam will be given during the last hour of the class.

A Serve Safe manual is available prior to the beginning of the class, and it is highly recommended that it be reviewed in preparation for the exam.

The ServeSafe full certification course will be offered on Monday, April 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $175.

The Serve Safe renewal course will be offered on Tuesday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost is $75.

Both courses are taught by Pam Freeman, a Master Chef certified by the American Culinary Federation. Certification for the training is provided by Hibbing Community

College. The training will be held at Cook County Higher Education’s North Shore Campus, 300 West Third Street, Grand Marais.
