Sensational stats for Viking girls




With 16 games played, the Vikings girls’ team is in high gear with 14 wins and two losses. They are on a record pace to set all-time wins, and because of their excellent play, several Vikings are in the top 20 players in a variety of statistics kept by the Polar League. Ashley Deschampe leads all players with 42.7 percent from beyond the 3-point line. Katie Myhre of Barnum is second with a 34.5 average. Deschampe also leads the conference in free throws at 84.5 percent. Ailee Larson ranks sixth with 67.2 percent and Brea Boomer is ranked 14th at 53.9 percent. Ailee Larson leads the conference with 5.1 assists per game; Boomer is 10th at 3.1 assists, Deschampe is 13th with 2.8 assists and Bekah Laky ranks 15th with 2.7 assists per game. Boomer ranks 3rd in steals with 4 picks per game. Larson and Deschampe are 10th and 11th with a 2.8 average. Deschampe is the 5th highest scorer in conference play, averaging 16.4 points per game. Boomer is ranked 7th with a 16.1 scoring average and Larson is ranked 14th with 13.2 points per game. Only Brea Boomer made the top 20 in rebounding. She ranks second with 9.4 boards per game. Sarah Sample of McGregor is first with 11.3 boards per game. Boomer has hit for 57.5 percent of her shots, third best in the conference. Larson is 5th in field goal percentage at 51.9 percent and Deschampe is 9th with 46.2 percent of her shots falling.
