The smiling group above is just a few of the great volunteers who gave their time, sweat, and energy to assist area seniors who needed help with yard work and various chores over the first week of June.
Care Partners of Cook County organized a Senior Spring Cleanup June 3-9.
They had a great showing of volunteers with groups from Spirit of the Wilderness, the Cub Scouts and Bethlehem Lutheran Church as well as half a dozen Care Partners volunteers.
Chores included trimming bushes, cutting up trees, cleaning out gardens, planting, digging up gardens, weed-whacking, mowing, raking, pulling weeds, and picking up and hauling away fallen branches.
With some extra chores scheduled in the coming weeks, a total of eight seniors will have received assistance. Their feedback: “It looks so wonderful.” “They got so much done!” “Please tell the volunteers I am so grateful.”
