Senior Legion Cook County/Silver Bay team takes win over Barnum



Patrick Pierre gave up ten hits but also struck out twelve to help lead the Cook County/Sliver Bay Sr. Legion team to a thrilling 5-3 victory over the Barnum Bombers.

The Cook County/ Silver Bay Vikings traveled to Barnum on July 2 to face the always tough Bombers.

The Vikings trailed 2-1 going into the seventh inning as pitching dominated and good defense dominated the play.

Amos Falter singled in the seventh inning to drive in a run and Jacob Dorr drove in two runs in a productive seventh inning.

Patrick pitched a complete game, allowing three runs, ten hits, two walks and striking out 12 batters.

The game was scoreless through four innings. Barnum took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning and each team added a run in the sixth. The Vikings went into the seventh and final inning down 2-1. That’s when the team finally found some offense, rallying to score four runs.

Barnum out hit the Vikings ten to eight, but the Vikings had five less strikeouts, seven to twelve. The Vikings also tallied seven walks to two for the Barnum Bombers.

Both Dorr brothers, Jacob, and Paul, had two hits in the game. Amos Falter also had two hits while Braylen Hoff and Jacob Carpenter each had one hit in the game.

Tate Crawford had the most chances in the field with 12. The Vikings didn’t commit a single error while Barnum ended the game with two.
